Karmann Missouri

For sale from my late father's estate:
Motorhome from the renowned manufacturer Karmann, model Missouri, based on the VW LT 35 chassis.

The motorhome features the relatively rare mid-dinette layout. As a result, it offers a comparatively spacious wet room area with separate shower and a tall, externally accessible storage compartment, which incorporates a floor-mounted water collection basin for wetsuits.

The vehicle is in good condition, meticulously maintained by a retiree. It was only seasonally registered until 2024 and stored in a dry garage during the winter months until then.

There are 4 registered seats and 4 sleeping berths. The dinette can be converted into 2 beds, and 2 additional sleeping spaces are located in the overcab area, which are suitable for 2 children or 1 adult.

A gas system with 2 bottles is installed, supplying the three-burner stove, the boiler with auxiliary heating, and the refrigerator (which also runs on 12V/220V). The gas inspection is valid until 05/2027. An impact sensor, which shuts off the gas system in case of a collision, has been retrofitted.

According to the manufacturer, the motorhome is winter-proof.

The vehicle is equipped with a solar system. The panel is affixed to the roof and the charging technology is by Vitronic, monitorable via Bluetooth. This system allows the living area to be powered by solar energy, the alternator (12V), or shore power (220V), resulting in maximum self-sufficiency.

An automatic satellite system from Oyster Vision was retrofitted three years ago.

Signs of age-appropriate wear are present. To the best of my knowledge, all issues are minor and can be remedied even by buyers with limited DIY skills. There is some localised edge rust on the exterior, and the hard plastic bumpers have two non-MOT-relevant cracks. The entrance door is rusty at the bottom. The remainder of the bodywork, as far as I'm aware, is made of GRP and therefore rust-free. No visible moisture ingress during cleaning with a high-pressure washer. Inside, the wet room floor trays have cracks. Otherwise, the interior is in very good condition – typical Karmann quality.

With continued good maintenance, the vehicle will be eligible for historic registration in under two years, which will lift the restrictions associated with the yellow emissions sticker and significantly reduce road tax.

Subject to agreement by the insurer, the insurance policy can be transferred (SF25, currently €176.66/year).

The vehicle is registered and available for test drives.

Recommendations:
- The leisure battery was deeply discharged after a long period of inactivity. I replaced it provisionally; I would recommend installing a lithium-ion battery in the future
- During the last inspection, the age of the tyres was noted, so replacement is advised
- The wet room floor trays should be sealed
