After three years of real-world use with hundreds of MAXIMUM electric wheel loaders, we've reached a clear conclusion: For year-round operation, we strongly advise against using expensive lithium batteries.

The issue with lithium in winter:
- Power loss: Even from +5°C, the batteries discharge extremely quickly outdoors.
- No charging in frost: At 0°C and below, they cannot be charged. The loader is often out of service for months.
- Outdoor storage impossible: Sensitive lithium technology does not survive wintering outdoors without damage.

Our recommendation: Maintenance-free lead-acid batteries
We've had by far the best experience with this technology. The advantages are clear:
- Reliable in the cold: Constant performance and trouble-free outdoor storage in winter.
- Robust & durable: Higher reliability and easy maintenance in daily operation.
- Significant cost advantage: Considerably cheaper to purchase and replace than lithium packs.
Avoid costly lithium experiments if you need your machine to operate reliably all year round.
